Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Boss writing bad checks
My boss has several times told me to send checks out to pay bills for his businesses that I new there was not enough money to cover. When I have told him that the checks were not covered he said he would put money in the account.
He hasn't on several occasions. Just this past week he write several large checks, told me to send them out and then did not put the money in the bank. These checks are written and he has me stamp them with a signature.
My fear is that if they prosecute, since they are stamped could he say that he did not know anything about them and could them come after me?

Re: Boss writing bad checks
Since you are stamping his name he could deny knowledge. However, if he has a past history of authorizing people to stamp his name and it is well known you have less of a problem.
