Is it against the law for corporations to purchase supplies, building decorations etc. from their clients?

Not if there is a valid business purpose for the transactions and the transactions are arms length (for example, you purchase copier paper from a client at normal prices). If, however, the purpose of the purchases is something that would otherwise be unlawful, the purchases should not be made.
