Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Hello! I have a business and am interested in hiring an employee. I just want to pay them for a small assignment, sort of like a contract. Would it be possible to pay someone about $30 for some work without having to list them as an employee and undergo all government paperwork?

Generally, if you are hiring an individual for one time for a set amount of money $30, the individual would be deemed an independent contractor and not an employee.
