buying merchandise on the internet
I purchase a item at a price that was listed on the website got my confirmation # but now the item is more and the company wants me to pay the difference do I have a case

I would say you had a completed purchase contract when you got the confirmation of sale, and agreed to the payment terms. If the seller refuses to honor the contract I suggest contacting the web site and issuing a complaint. If the site was like e-bay or something similar, while you might not have anything more than a right to sue the seller, the site host may prevent the seller from using the site again, and this might pressure the seller to honor your contract.
