Canning Factory Odor
What course of action should I take to find out if anything is being done to reduce the horrible odor coming from the canning factory in my neighborhood? I have already called the town, who gave me the factory's phone number and told me to call and make a complaint, which I did. There must be more this company can do to make the town more livable. To be frank, it smells like Clifford the friendly dog just took a huge dump here. I don't know how the other residents can stand it, since my house isn't always downwind, but others on my street must smell it 24/7!

I liked Clifford. However, I understand your complaint.

You should try government intervention before a private lawsuit (which could become expensive).

I understand you already contacted the Town. You probably did not write a letter. You should put your complaint in writing. Send it certified mail.

File a written complaint with the local village government. I would also file a written complaint with the New York State Department of Health.
