Can I claim for my lost wages & Delivery Charges ?
Hello,
I had ordered a softbed from Sofabed Etc in Farmingdale, NY on 3/23/2004 and was told that it would be delivered in 6 to 8 weeks. I called up to inquire on May 5th and was told that it is still in production. I was surprised, but I was ready to wait. Then I called again on May 10th and was told that the sofa is ready for delivery on May 20th,21st or 22nd. So I scheduled for May 20th delivery and took a day off from work. The store manager told me that the delivery company will give me a call between 7:30 am - 8:00 am to let me know the 2 hour time frame for the sofa delivery. They only deliver between 9:00 am-3:00 pm. I waited till 10:00 am ,but no call. Then I called the store and was put on hold for 15 minutes before the employee tells me that the delivery was rescheduled for tomorow. I told that guy that '' I took a day off from work just to get the sofa delivered''. The employee's response was '' I cannot do anything for you except deliver tomorow''. I asked the guy, why didn't the delivery company not give me a call early morning to inform me that the delivery is cancelled,so atleast I could go to work. He stated that ''they should have, but they didn't''. Then I went to the store and talked to the manager and to my surpr

You could but it would proably only amount to small claims. Why don't you speak to the manager and ask them to take $100 off the cost of the mattress.
