Legal Question in Business Law in New York
A company Making False Claims
What legal action can be taken if you worked for a pet sitting company as a salesperson/manager and later discovered that their claim of being insured was untrue, and this lie is one you unknowingly passed on to all new clients?

Re: A company Making False Claims
Oops.
You, personally, probably do not have a cause of action against the company at this time; however, should a client sue you, personally, for telling them this incorrect information (not likely to happen, since presumably nothing happened to the animal or the owner's belongings?) you can then go after the company to indemnify you if you passed the info along to the customer in good faith based on what the company had told you.
Now that you know about the lack of insurance, of course, you can no longer tell customers in good faith that the company is insured.
