Legal Question in Business Law in New York
consulting contract
My company had a three year consulting agreement with a US corp. The agreement was unilaterally terminated by the US company after 7 months. At the time of termination the contract was unsigned however three weeks latter the agreement was signed by both parties.
Does my company have a right for compensation for the remainder of the contract even though at the time the contract was unsigned?
During the 7 month duration both companies were acting in clear accordance with the agreement

Re: consulting contract
It's quite possible. However, one would have to review the contract, along with the relevant timeline, to be certain.

Q. Does my company have a right for compensation for the remainder of the contract even though at the time the contract was unsigned?
A. Even if the contract was not signed, there is a binding contract between the parties under the theory of quasi-contract. In other words, your company is entitled to be paid for work performed. Whether the terms under the subsequently signed contract are in full force and effect depends on the language in the contract.
