Re: copyright

You own the copyright in your photographs upon creation. To give notice of your copyright claim print a copyright notice on each copy in the form of c-in-a-circle, year of first publication, and your name. E.g., (c) 2004 Schaefer Law Firm.

To preserve all of your statutory rights, submit your photos for copyright registration. Visit www.copyright.gov.

Re: copyright

To assure a record of your ownership, the photographs should be recorded with your copyright if you plan to use them professionally.

If you have taken photos of people you may want to secure their releases (if you have not already done so) in order to obtain permission to market those images commercially.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.
