If a took a picture of someone holding an autobigraphy of a famous politician ( showing the front cover) , and was to mass produce it and sell it, is there a copyright law against this

In further support of the previous attorneys response, you'll need to be aware of the potential problem involving using another persons photo/image for monetary gain.

Re: privacy right
Not copyright. Privacy law, or in New York, the Civil rights law, prohibits the use of a person's picture without their permission, if the picture makes it appear the person is endorsing a position.
