Legal Question in Business Law in New York

I sell drawings to people that I draw. I have a website that I put these drawings on after I am finished drawing them. I take a picture of them, and/or I scan them. Do I have to have permission from the person that I draw the picture for and sell the drawing to in order to use it for advertisement? I am not selling prints of the picture. I am just advertising my finished work. When I advertised to draw these drawings, I did state that I was doing them at a low rate to build my portfolio. Thank you for your time.

It would be a good idea to get a release.
