Legal Question in Business Law in New York

The corporation of churches

Our church is revising its constitution. We simply want to make sure all the elements of our constitution are within state requirements (e.g. a minimum of 3 trustees is required over the corporate property). Can you enlighten us on what requirements we should be aware of? If not, can you tell us where to look? Thank you.

Certainly. You may look in McKinney's Consolidated

Laws of New York, the Not-For-Profit Corporations

Law, and in particular Section 401. There are also

form books and Blumberg forms to accomplish this,

but you should use a lawyer. It is more complex

than you think, depending on the last time you
