Legal Question in Business Law in New York

I need to know how I can correct a mistake by my attorney who did not file a certified copy of the articles of organization to NYSED as a requirement for a PLLC. The 30 day period which NYSED requires for the submission has lapsed and I don't know how to proceed legally.

Being in active status with the NYSED is urgent because I lose a big contract from an insurance company if I don't provide proof that the business entity is actively registered with NYSED.

Also, shall my case stand in court in the event that I decide to sue my lawyer for damages if I lose this potential contract with a client because of my laywer's negligence in filing the documents appropriately and in a timely manner? If so, can you refer a good lawyer for this?

Thank you.

Just file the copy late. It's all you can do, and there's a high probability that the late submission will still be accepted.

As to the alleged malpractice the case would be quite difficult and expensive. I doubt you would find anyone who would accept it on a contingent fee.
