Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Employer terminating my boss
My employer (President of company) would like me to write something up stating things that my boss has done and wants to fire her. He said he wont use ME as the only reason for her termination. But, I am worried. If I write something up, can she sue me somehow if she finds out that I was to blame for her terminaton? I am afraid to write something up. I don't really want to get involved and I told him that. He told me that he would like me to look out for the interest of the company. I have been working there for 15 years. My boss is terrible. She doesn't work. She basically has me doing all her job functions. I don't really want this on my conscience. However, I don't want to lose my job either. I don't even know if what he is asking me to do is legal. But my main concern is if she finds out what I did. Please help.

You need to speak with an employment attorney. Check with your local bar association or the state bar association (www.nysba.org) for a referral.
Re: Employer terminating my boss
If what you write is true and provable and within the scope of your job, then you should be fine. I very much doubt that she would sue you; she'd sue the company. But you should consult with an employment attorney and go through all the facts; maybe your boss will pay for it?
