Employment in non profit
Can a member of the board of directors or an officer of a not for profit theatre company also work as a paid instructor in that company?

Your answer lies in the bylaws of the nonprofit entity. If they say that BOD members can also be employed by the entity, then there is no reason why they can't. But check the bylaws.
