Legal Question in Business Law in New York
If I find a listing of email addresses of students on a public webpage (hosted by that school's (Univerisity's) club) and I send them an email about my potential job opening is that legal?

That's a clear violation of the "anti-spam" laws. If email recipients don't ask you to send them e-mails (something that is called "opting-in") then you are sending unsolicited emails and there are penalties for doing it.
If you look up the "CAN-SPAM" act in Google, you should get a decent idea of the law around sending emails.
If you sign up with one of the larger email services (mail chimp, etc.) they can also walk you through the proper steps of emailing potential job applicants.
