Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Fired for suing the company
My boyfriend was fired today because
he recently filed a lawsuit against his
company -- he lent the company
(the manager was a close friend of
his) $60,000 a year ago, with the
company promising to pay him back
with interest by Sept. 1, 2006.
Almost a year later, he got tired of
listening to excuses and filed a
lawsuit to get his money back. Today
they fired him ''for being a disruptive
employee'' because he's suing them.
Are they allowed to do that, or can
he also sue them for wrongful
termination?

Re: Fired for suing the company
he very well may have a case for retaliatory termination... and a case for the debt owed which he could have various ways of getting back.
