Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Forced leave
Is it legal for a company to tell employees that they will be closed for 4 days and that this will count as annual leave. Therefore people who no longer have any leave days left, are forced to take it as unpaid leave.

Yes. NY is an at will state. Which means the employer and employee maintain a relationship, so long as a contract does not state otherwise, as long as they wish.
In this case, if the company says that they are closing for a few days and that you will not be paid unless there is time to charge against it, you must take it or find another job.
