Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Inherited NYC co-op apartment from grandma's trust 5 years ago. Ownership never transferred to me; can the transfer be done now? How?
Apartment all paid for, no debt. I continued to pay taxes and maintenance charges.

The will may have to go through probate in surrogate's court. Contact the Coop Board and they will counsel you regarding their rules and regulations in such matters.

Trustees should issue a Deed from the trust to you. Coop probably has to get involved to approve transaction and Deed needs to be recorded. A local real estate attorney familiar with Coop transactions can assist everyone.
