Please contact Mr. Gonzalez and avail yourself of his offer to refer you to some experienced tax professionals.

You may also want to post your same question again to LawGuru's TAXATION category (instead of the business law category) to avail yourself of the opinions of other experienced tax lawyers.

However, also note that if it is now still less than THIRTY days from the time you received the IRS letters regarding the other two years, it is recommended that you appeal these two latest IRS letters to the Appeals Office of the IRS. There is a THIRTY DAY DEADLINE for doing so.

Appealing to the Appeals Office of the IRS frequently results in REDUCING tax liability, BUT does NOT usually result in totally zeroing them

out.

Procedural details about submitting such appeal to the Appeals Office of the IRS can be found on the IRS WEBSIITE, and there are some "do-it-yourself" books and brochures available from Nolo Press (which also has a website) for challenging IRS audits.

However, to get help with constructing the legal arguments for this appeal, it is a good idea to get whatever help you can from any tax lawyers either referred by Mr. Gonzalez or through this LawGuru website.

In future, note that too large expenses on a tax return compared to relatively small income, is something the IRS looks for when deciding to audit.
