Looking for lawyers to employ

Hello,

I am looking for lawyers who wouldn't mind having a strategic alliance with my company. I want to partner with a lawyer/law firm to handle the trademark/patten/copyright portion of my company.

I will be dealing with a lot of start ups and well established corporations who will need these services so I want to add it onto my list. I expect a lot of these services to be requested so I need a lawyer who can handle it.

My idea for this is to split the profit with the lawyer 50/50. I know some of you may be saying that's a lot, however I see it as 50% more then you had before and a lot more clients then you ever had before. Basically it's as simple as filling out the forms online, also known as easy money.

Also I'm not sure what other companies charge but I'm guessing it's a lot cheaper then a lawyer would charge. I am not saying this will be required but I wouldn't mind a lawyer that is willing to lower his normal fee for this so he can make up for it in quantity.

On a personal note I need 3 or so contracts made. Anybody want to give a discount or hold payment for a month? At least I tried huh?

First, you need to be aware that it is a violation of the attorney ethical code for an attorney to split a legal fee with a non-lawyer. This is to avoid a conflict of interest which would undermine an attorney from giving advice that might be in his best interest but against the best interest of his client. For similar reasons, business partnerships between lawyers and non-lawyers are generally frowned upon. That's why you don't see mergers between lawyers and banks or lawyers and other business the way you do see such mergers as between banks and insurance companies or real estate and mortgage brokers.

Nevertheless, there may be other ways to structure your needs and I am interested to learn more about your business and legal needs.
