Legal Question in Business Law in New York
I live in NYC, and I want to open up a public art space/art gallery. What kind of permits and/or licenses do I need? And how do I register my business to file taxes? And what taxes do I have to file? (sales, city, state?)
Thank you!!!!

Generally, art galleries do not require a license to operate in New York City.
You will need to form a company (LLC or a corporation), and register an EIN number with the IRS. Since you will likely be investing a lot of money in the business, you should have a lawyer and an accountant who will advise you along the way.
