Legal Question in Business Law in New York
manufacturing?
If one uses a type of ''raw'' material, for ex., foam or cushion as a component in a product to be sold to the public, does one need to have any sort of agreement with the material supplier because the foam or cushion is, in a sense, being redistributed?

Re: manufacturing?
Interesting question. My inclination is as long as the product is in raw form, no extra agreement is needed as the product is not being used for its brand, and is being used in the manner intended by the manufacture. In short, the agreement exists but it is in effect a sales agreement, you have paid the price to use their product and that is as the manufacturer intended. Aside from a sales agreeement (either directly from the manufacturer or a distributor) there is nothing else I can think of that would be necessary to use a raw product.
