Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Missing person needed to sign documents
We need a surrender agreement signed for one or our stores, in order to re-sell it and not lose our Lease. The current owner of the corporation which currently owns the store, the person needed to sign the agreement, is missing. Is there any hope in having an alternative solution to having a signed surrender agreement?

Perhaps an indemnification agreement could work.

Is there another officer of the corporation with authority to sign available?
Re: Missing person needed to sign documents
The lease agreement should state how you would go about giving notice to the Landlord. It may also provide the terms for assigning the lease and what you need to do to give notice to the landlord to effectuate an assignment. Follow those provisions and see if you get a response from someone in the Corporation.
Good Luck.

Please note: This answer is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship. It is merely a comment on the legal question presented and should not be relied upon unless and all the facts have been uncovered and until an attorney-client relationship is entered into. Entering into an attorney-client relationship would require signing a retainer agreement and depositing a retainer to secure payment of legal fees
