Legal Question in Business Law in New York

I recently booked a wedding where complications surfaced on my end due to workers not being available etc. I received a deposit and the client is saying I will be hearing from his lawyer. What will happen? Can I be sued since I clearly on my website have a no refund notice. Also on receipt it says any questions about this receipt visit my website or email. So, you want something for nothing. This is not how things work: you don't get paid for not performing regardless of what's on your website.
If what you are saying is that you took their money but then did not provide the services they paid for, then of course they can sue you irrespective of what it says on your website.
If they are threatening legal action, I suggest that you consult with a lawyer in private and discuss your objectives in more detail. You can start by calling around to several for a free phone consultation, get some insights then pick the best fit to work with.
If you would like to discuss further over a free phone consult, feel free to contact me anytime that is convenient.
