Legal Question in Business Law in New York

If there is a contract involving interest in land. Would it not be considered a valid contract if it is through email ??

Contracts for real estate have to be in writing. They also have to be the complete deal. I would guess that under normal circumstances, the e-mail would work.

E-mail would appear to be a writing but it seems like it would be hard to keep it from being changed. Hence as a lawyer I would be more comfortable if I sent a contract by e-mail but received it back signed, notorized by overnight mail and a copy by fax.

Mr. Colleluori is correct. If you have all the elements of a binding contract, then you have a contract. Proving in court who was actually sending the emails could be difficult though.
