Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Order to Show Cause The judge only wants to conduct a hearing and crossed out the verb age associated with answering papers and reply papers for both parties on the Order.
Hearing is scheduled in a few days
The other party provided answering papers few days before the hearing on the Order to Show Cause and disregarded the judges request of no submission of answering papers.
Is this improper and will this documents be admissible to the court or will the court reject for non-compliance because the judge requested that no answering and reply papers be submitted?
1 Answer from Attorneys
It appears the judge will dispense with a thorough review of the papers and will attempt resolution of all issues in a framed setting; that is why you have been summoned to proceed with a hearing. Smart move on the part of the judge.
