Legal Question in Business Law in New York
I had a potential buyer back out of closing. My attorney was holding the depost if $10,000. This happened in 2004. He deposited it into an escrow account and I was told it needed to stay there for 7 years. If no one claimed it then the money was mine. What do I need to do to claim it now?

I would send a written demand to your attorney. If he or she does not make payment, I would then file a grievance with the local bar association.
