The use of a prior employer's company name for advertising purposes in my new sm
My partner and I are both Make-up Artists. This past December '03, we formed our own corporation with the goal to provide on location make-up services for weddings, special events, etc... We both worked for the same prior employer and we want to know if we are allowed by law to reference that company's name on our business cars, advertisements and any PR?

Much depends on whether you have a non-compete clause with your prior employer. Assuming you don't anything you say must be trutfhful and non-deceptive.
Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can call my office to schedule an appointment for a consultation or in the alternative, I can be reached for on-phone low-cost legal consultation at 1-800-275-5336 x0233699.

You are permitted to say such things as "formally associated with..." Or such things as "when associated with... I did such and such". You would not be permitted to use the former employers name as if you continued to be associated with that company.
