Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Promisory Note
I gave money to a friend without a promisory note - he keeps on saying he will sign one, but 10 months have past and I do not have anything in writing. What are my liabilities - all money on credit card with delivery to his store. We were supoosed to be partners - he dumped everything on me and I want out now.

Re: Promisory Note
I would need additional information to give you an idea of what your rights are. You may have some liability for the business debts if you are indeed a partner and therefore it is essential that you speak with an attorney to make sure you are correctly extricated from this business and to determine the best option to recover your money. Please feel free to call my office if we can be of any assistance.
