No registered agent is required in New York for corporations; this is not necessarily true in other states.

The registered agent is listed with the Dept. of State. You may have to pay a fee for the information if the agent is not listed on the web listing of the corporation. You can run a search from:

Registered agents accept service of process for corporations. If no registered agent is listed, service can be made on the Secretary of State as agent for the corporation. This is true of both in-state (i.e., formed in New York) and foreign (i.e., formed outside of New York) corporations.
