Legal Question in Business Law in New York
I would like to know if scanned signatures have the same legal bearing as original signatures , primarily on invoices, receipts, etc. The reason for this question is that I'd like to scan and shred cases of files going back 12 years.

For most purposes, scanned documents are sufficient. However, there are instances, although limited, where an original signature might be required (for instance, litigation). If the document is multiple pages, maybe a good idea would be to scan the document but keep original signature pages somewhere, if you think they might be required some day.
