Legal Question in Business Law in New York

right to sell

I have dicovered a use for an item not normally used for such. How would i go about starting a business designed to make use of this new use? Can I simply purchase it wholesale from the manufacturer, package it and sell it?

Re: right to sell

YOU MAY DO SO, BUT DEPENDING UPON THE PRODUCT, THE USE AND PATENT AND TRADEMARK ISSUES, YOU MIGHT BE AT RISK. I SUGGEST CONTACTING A PATENT AND TRADEMARK ATTORNEY TO REVIEW THE UNIQUNESS OF THE USE AND IF YOU CAN FILE FOR PATENT PROTECTION. YOU MAY NEED TO GET SOME LICENSE AGREEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER AS WELL. THIS IS A RESPONSE TO AN INTERNET QUESTION AND THE REPLY IS NOT INTENDED TO BE LEGAL ADVICE OR AS CREATING AN ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP. OMITTED FACTS MAY RESULT IN A DIFFERENT REPLY.
