Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Sending Mail Legally from Company? (USPS)
I am setting up a small business
where the primary service provided is
the mailing of greeting cards to a
specified addresss. For example, you
go online and pay to have a card
sent to a friend.
Is this legal to do? What does the
postal service require I have on the
envelope in terms of identificaton?
Are there any other legal implications
I should be aware of? Thanks!

This is probably the type of question that you will need to pay an attorney to research for you. We don't get tested on this in school and it doesn't come up in a regular practice.

I'm not sure how you intend to postmark the cards and this might impact the legal answer. Please feel free to contact my office if we can be of any assistance in this matter.
Re: Sending Mail Legally from Company? (USPS)
So long as proper postage is paid and it's identifiable who the sender of the mail is, I can't imagine a scenario where the proposed business would be illegal.
