Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Setting up A non-profit entity under a 50C3 status

I would like to set up an entity under the status of 50C3 non-profit. This entity is to be a ministry. However, its name is to be secular. I am an attorney - though recently admitted to the State of Connecticut. As such, I am not familiar with the creation of said entity in New York. Please advise, or tender more questions to research. Thank you!

Re: Setting up A non-profit entity under a 50C3 status

If you are competent on your own then there may be no need for assistance - generally you will file for incorporation then file the paper work with the IRS after incorporation requesting 501 status, then submission of these same documents to the state and city may be done... this will be sufficient...

overall, there are some specific rules to qualify as a non-profit and those can be in the business and corporation law... which will define EXACTLY what the requirements are as fars as your articles and business description, so as to have no issues when making the IRS request...

much luck, feel free to ocntact me for future issues. You may reach my office at 2127098303
