Legal Question in Business Law in New York
I signed a contract with a logging company to cut some of the timber on a 20 acre parcel that I own. The contract stated that the total payment to me is to be $10,500 with half to be paid at the start of the job, which $5,250 was payed to me by check on April 10, 2024. The balance, $5,250 was to be paid two weeks after logging started. It is now almost 7 months later and all I have is excuses and empty promises. What are my legal options?

File a claim into the small claims court. Your cap is probably $5k but no legal fees involved and min court costs.
