Without looking at the agreement with the company, it is difficult to see whether you have a way out of this situation. However, a membership fee of $3,400 does seem excessive. n any event, contact the company first to demand a refund. If they do not refund your money, a Department of Consumer Affairs may be able to help you in this situation. If not, your recourse is a court action against the company.
Your contract with the company stands. Does the contract have a time-based "opt-out" provision ?
Did you even read the contract before signing up? I figure you may have used your credit card to pay for membership. See if they can help you out. Your best bet is try to resolve it with the company directly since all the other options are difficult and untenable at best.
