Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Starting my own eBay seller business...

Hi,

I currently sell items on eBay and other venues for friends and family. I am looking to expand my reach and want to start selling for strangers. What do I need to do to protect myself? For example, I would not want getting caught in the middle of selling an item that might have been stolen or anything else.

I have tried to put together a contract based on some examples I have seen other Sellers on eBay use. Also what has to be on my copy of the contract and what has to be on the other persons contract.

Thanks you for the help and feedback.

You should incorporate. A corporation limits liability.

In terms of language in a contract, the question is too broad to answer in this forum. However, the language on your contract must be the same as the language on the other person's contract.
