Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Starting an LLC business

I looked through the LLC forms and I am a sole owner;

1. Do I need a businees ID number or can I use my Social Security number to file for the LLC.

2. Do I need a lawyer to start the LLC business?

Re: Starting an LLC business

A limited liability company with only one member is disregarded as an entity by default. If the LLC does not have employees, it does not need an Employer Identification Number (aka Federal Identification Number or Business ID). You can use your social security number for all purposes.

You do not need a lawyer to start the LLC. However, in order to be sure that your LLC is set up correctly and your business has all the licenses and permits it requires, it may be prudent to use one.

In any event, it pays to be knowledgeable about what is involved in forming and running an LLC. Re: Starting an LLC business

An attorney can assist you in avoiding pitfalls that you do not know exist. Also, the LLC is its own legal entity and needs its own EIN.

I'm in your general area. Call me for a free consult at my 845 number of 8782163
