Legal Question in Business Law in New York
State filing required?
Hi,
Just want to know do I have to file a NY state EIN or is the federal one the only requirement?

You only have to file for a Federal EIN (employee Identification number). It is like a social security number for your business.

Federal EIN is used for both federal and state purposes. No separate number is required.
