Re: subpoena
The subpoena is only valid if served via a commission, That means a lawyer in your state went to court to get an order to get a subpoena valid in YOUR jurisdiction.

Re: subpena
A subpoena issued in New York from a private law firm (not the government or district attorney) is not valid in Chicago. Always accept certified or registered letters. If you do not, you will be deemed to have received it anyway. It is always best to know the contents of the letter. If there is a reason why you want to participate in a legal proceeding in New York you can make arrangements with the New York law firm to pay your expenses and for your time. If this is a lawsuit against you or your business, you should consult with an attorney. Only under rare circumstances could you be subject to the jurisdiction of a New York court. We are a litigation firm that routinely handles such matters. You can arrange for a consultation by calling us at (212) 267-7000
