Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Hi, I own a Trucking company, I had a problem with a load from a broker. We had an agreement that the load will be deliver on Friday 1/14/2011 from 8am-4pm. But once our truck got to the warehouse at 3:40pm they told us we can't be unloaded because we were too late, and they next available time to unload is on Monday 1/17/2011. We had another load that needs to be pick up on Saturday 1/15/2011. Now it cost money to have my truck on idle. Is there any i can do about this?

In order to answer you, I will need more information. Did you confirm the delivery window with the warehouse? Do you have a contract with the broker? Typically if a load is held, a demurrage fee can be levied, unless it is otherwise agreed between the parties. In this scenario, it will depend on whose responsibility it was to confirm the delivery schedule with the warehouse.
