Legal Question in Business Law in New York
Unpaid Service Provider
I have been working for a business as an independant contractor and have not been paid in over 6 month, prior to that all checks issued bounced. Each month i issued an invoice listing pastdue and new charges. I have not sent a letter demainding payment within 30 day and suspended the account. Am I at any risk for suspending the account immediately? They are now looking to turn a law suit around on me.

Re: Unpaid Service Provider
You need to bite the bullet and hire an attorney. This situation you have yourself in is far to complex to deal with on a legal q&a website.
There are attorneys local to you who can handle your matter. You are looking for someone who does collections work. Ask for referrals from your friends, the local bar association, or the NYS Bar Association.
Good luck.
