Legal Question in Business Law in New York
I am writing a service contract and i found a template that has this term:"Either party may terminate this agreement at any point in time by giving the other party at least ______ days notice, in writing, as to the effective date of termination."
My question is, can I prevent the client to comply with the contract as agreed and not change his mind later? Or the costumer has the right to change his mind and say, hey, instead of making the kitchen cabinets and the living room floor, lets just do the kitchen. Please advise...I dont know else where to ask! Thank you in advance!

Look, trying to be your own business lawyer and draft your own contracts can be a very dangerous proposition. No responsible lawyer will advise on a specific contract in a vacuum let alone over a free public Q&A. That is not the point of this forum.
What you need to do is locate a lawyer that can create a proper master service agreement that you can use for your business. This way you know it was prepared properly and protects your interests as best as possible. Yes, this will cost something, but consider it a wise investment.
If you would like to discuss further over a free phone consult, feel free to contact me anytime that is convenient.
Kind regards,
Frank
