Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
assaulted by police...arrested..charges from them saying i pushed him...did not..have a witness..have a tape..i think..(home depot)...kicked punched threw around...medication fell out in the process..got a charge for that.yet..possess legal prescription...with dr approval if necessary..have bruises on body...photos of them..nothing major..but was extremely violated and totally unwarranted...i was approache..wit my landlord in parking lot by a very young kid in distress...crying..trying to sell a gift card..not sure the whole story with why..but it ended up it was a legitimate card...was going to give him cash for it...tried to find out from cashier how much..they refused..thought some scam..but it was completely blown out of proportion...two men approached me...no id badges...little badge..on breast pocket..absolutely nothing else..never identified themselves as officers...they asked to look at card..and ..to protect the young boy crying..i refused...grabbed me...saying nothing...then ...the whole shit blew up..i didnt know what was happening...the boy with the card..i do remember..was screaming at them telling them to stop...tht i didnt do anything..kept pounding away...i never witnessed [olice brutality..until it happened to me...what can i do?

I'd be happy to speak with you (free of charge) about this matter. Police brutality cases can be complicated and if you wish to pursue civil damages, the charges against you must be fought to dismissal.
So you need a criminal defense attorney AND a police brutality lawyer -- and it probably won't be the same attorney handling both cases.
