can a tape recorded conversation be used in court if the other party didn't know they were being recorded?

If it wasn't a private conversation, with an expectation of privacy,it is likely. The difference is easier to grasp if you think of people talking in a room where other people might overhear them.
In a one on one, it is less likely.
