Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

defamation

someone told me they were going to sue for slander, libel,and defamation. the person said that according to supposed emails and comments that i put on myspace about her. now the issue i have is that the comments were edited by her, she sent messages to my family stating all different types of false accusations. isnt falsly accusing someone of something the same thing as defamation, if it is written. so isnt what she accuses me of the same thing she is doing??

Wait for her lawsuit. I doubt she will find an attorney to bring it. Cases like this are fairly easy to disprove. Do yourself a favor, and never write anything on a website ESPECIALLY MYSPACE that you don't want to see haunt you the rest of your life.
