Re: false complaint

A person who makes a complaint certainly should have proof that an incident occurred before going to the police and ruining a person's reputation and putting them at risk of their liberty.

If someone has been falsely accused they have a right to file a lawsuit against both the lying complainant and sometimes the police as well. Laws have recently changed as to timetables for these types of lawsuits and you should consult an attorney immediately so as to preserve your rights even if your criminal case is still on going.

My office would be happy to speak to anyone who is the victim of a false arrest unlawful imprisonment or malicious prosecution.
