Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
hello,
i've recently been ticketed (have to go to court) and had my airsoft gun confiscated by the police when i was shooting it in my landlord's driveway, aiming it at the backyard.
my question is will i ever get the gun back? was it even lawful for them to confiscate my property when i was using it on private land? (they were messing around with the gun like little kids before one of them put it in a squad car's trunk. i feel so safe with these people protecting our neighborhoods. *sarcasm*)
ps: they charged me with "possession of imitation firearm"

There is perhaps a question of whether you were on private property (not public) as defined within a constitutional context.
