Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
my husband has been set up and convicted by the police for drug sales. they didnt have any evidence no pictures buy money nothing at all the trooper who testified at trial described on the papers as a man with black hair and 5'7 my husband is bald for years and 5'10 she gave three different descriptions on buy sheets none of which was my husband so how can the same person be responsible for all transaction but the description is not the same in three occasions. impossible . the trooper commited suicide and now no one wants to say anything about it . after trial a week later. she testified in two trials and we both brought our children to the trial to show her that she is wrong and should not lie because it wasnt them. well the ci in my husbands case even picked the wrong person in a line up to be my husband and they hid that evidence. my husband found it somehow he has it and we are fighting an appeal. we have an investigation from albany and rochester from the police to the court judge for mishandling and malicious prosecution. how can we start to find a lawyer and sue them and uncover the truth that the police lied and the trooper killed herself because she couldnt live with the lies or she was gonna tell the truth ?? maybe the police didnt want that and did something. how do we pursue the lawsuit. my husband also fell in the correctional facility and was not treated properly. he was also denied the law library. nothing at all.

You cannot jump from criminal court to civil court and expect to prevail without removing the underlying criminal conviction. Your husband's best hope is to get a criminal defense attorney and file an appeal.
